A brief history of UK Connect

2013

Our CEO & Founder PJ Farr’s experience serving abroad inspired him to create UK Connect after seeing the need for reliable Connectivity in remote locations, including UK construction sites. By providing innovative Connectivity solutions, we help businesses achieve their goals quickly and efficiently.

2014

UK Connect’s innovative Connectivity offering took the Construction industry by storm, with CEO & Founder PJ Farr distributing free broadband units to building sites, which quickly proved indispensable to Site Agents after a 30-day trial. Over the next three years, PJ worked to provide innovative and reliable solutions to help customers overcome their Connectivity challenges.

2016

A big year for the company, providing Connectivity solutions for UK-leading housebuilders like Redrow Homes, Barratt Homes, St. Modwen and Thames Valley Housing, before partnering with industry giant Taylor Wimpey and investing in new technology through a collaboration with the 5G Innovation Centre at Surrey University.

2019

We won Fastest Growing Business at the Business Excellence Forum and Awards, acknowledging our innovative Connectivity solutions that have been tailored to meet the demands of our rapidly expanding client base.

2021

UK Connect enhanced the broadband infrastructure in Ministry of Defence camps, improving UK Armed Forces communication during a mission-critical period and allowing service personnel to connect with loved ones, while successfully testing ultra-sensitive wristband technology through our sister company One.site to ensure the safety of construction workers during the Covid-19 pandemic.

2022

At UK Connect, we’re proud to have been recognised as a Great Place to Work®, reflecting our commitment to creating a supportive, valued, and exciting work environment. This same year, we were also thrilled to be ranked among the UK’s Best Small Workplaces for Women and Wellbeing.

Today

We are a leading UK fully-managed Connectivity provider, providing critical onsite Connectivity and Communication solutions to prestigious companies in industries such as Construction, Public Sector, Manufacturing, Mining and more, driving growth across every corner of the UK.

We’ve transformed Construction industry communication, collaboration and work and now extend our expertise to other sectors, like the Public Sector, Warehousing & Logistics, Mining and more, to revolutionise their Connectivity capabilities.
