UK Connect names new CEO as company enters next phase of growth

UK Connect, one of the UK’s fastest-growing technology partners to the construction and defence industries, has announced a major leadership transition as it enters its next phase of growth.

Chief Technology Officer, Joe Budnar-Hunt has been appointed Chief Executive Officer, succeeding founder PJ Farr, who becomes Executive Chairman to drive strategy, partnerships, and expansion into new sectors. The move signals the beginning of a bold new chapter for UK Connect, which now delivers connectivity nationwide for leading names including Taylor Wimpey, Cala Homes, Vistry Group, and the Ministry of Defence.

Since joining UK Connect in 2021, Joe Budnar-Hunt has been central to the company’s technology and product innovation. As CTO, he led the creation of FUSION – an award winning, first-of-its-kind multi-WAN connectivity solution that has redefined how construction companies bring new sites online.

Now adopted across major housebuilders nationwide, FUSION represents UK Connect’s commitment to keeping the UK’s most demanding industries connected, productive, and secure – anywhere. What began 13 years ago as a £1,100 start-up has become the UK’s leading connectivity provider to the construction and defence industries, connecting some of the biggest construction companies in the country. Today, UK Connect’s technology underpins national infrastructure – from Met Office weather stations to major defence operations, including connecting over 20,000 Ukrainian soldiers during Operation Interflex.
